LPD Investigating 19 Car Break-Ins

Thieves go window shopping in a Northwest Lincoln neighborhood, stealing everything they saw.

Police are investigating 19 car break-ins that happened over night Sunday.

Police say someone broke into cars in the Stonebridge Creek neighborhood near North 14th and Alvo Road.

They say the thieves took anything of value, including cash, iPods, GPS systems and speakers.

Police are surprised by how many valuable items were left in the cars.

"Just a reminder to citizens to removed all valuables from your vehicles overnight or even if you just leave your car for a short period of time. Thieves are on the prowl. They would look inside the vehicles for anything of value, if so, it just entices them to break in," Officer Katie Flood said.

Police say the thieves caused $3,750 damage while stealing $2,258 in items and cash.

Police have no suspects at this time.
