Update: Child Critically Injured in Car vs Bike Crash

Lincoln police say a child is critically injured following a car vs bicycle accident Wednesday.

It happened just before 3:30 Wednesday afternoon near 10th and Rose street.

According to police, a 12-year-old child was riding his bike when a white, Pontiac Bonneville hit him.

The child was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening. According to police, he is in critical condition. Police say his family has been notified and are at the hospital.

They say the car has damage to the front, driver's side.

Police blocked off the area but it has since re-opened.

No citations have been issued.
