Lincoln Police are investigating an early morning burglary at the Cooks Cafe.
Police said it happened just after 5 a.m. at the restaurant off 66th and Dudley. A cook in the kitchen heard a noise in the lobby and saw a man running out of the restaurant.
LPD looked at video surveillance and found the man first tried to break the glass door with an unknown object but failed, so he left. He returned later and tried to kick the glass door in, but again failed and left. The man returned a third time with a slab of concrete and threw it through the glass door, but the hole was too small to get through. When the man checked the door, he found it was unlocked.
Officers said the man got away with cash from the register. The only description police have is the man is about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.
