Lincoln Police say two teens are in custody after an alert neighbor called police.

At about 5:30 Wednesday night, police say a man returning to his home in the 4800 block of Tipperary Trail noticed two teens standing by his neighbors house.

He reported the teens would go to the back and side of the house.

Police say the man was on the phone with 911 when he saw the teens kick in his neighbor's side door.

When officers got into the neighborhood, they took 19-year-old Jared Jones and a 16-year-old into custody.

Officers checked the house, but learned the teens were not successful in getting inside. Police say they caused damage to the home.

After a canvas neighborhood, police say a 38-year-old woman found that her garage door and her house door had been kicked in.

Electronics worth $280 were stolen from the home. Police say they found two of the electronics on the teens.

Jones was lodged in jail for burglary and a 16-year-old was taken to a youth detention center.
