LPD says southbound Northwest 48th Street will be closed for several hours.
Lincoln Police say 49-year-old Daniel Everhart of Lincoln is dead following a collision on Northwest 48th Street. Another person remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash caused them to close southbound Northwest 48th Street in Lincoln for a few hours on Friday afternoon, but it has since been reopened.
The crash occurred when a semi-truck was making a turn off of Northwest 48th Street onto the westbound I-80 ramp.
A vehicle traveling southbound on Northwest 48th Street became trapped underneath the semi-truck.
Everhart and a 44-year-old year old Lincoln woman were trapped in the vehicle.
They were extricated from the vehicle and taken to Bryan West. Everhart died at the hospital. The woman is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the cause has not been determined at this time.
