LPD: Medical Condition Believed to be Cause of Accident

Police believe driver had a medical episode which caused a late night accident.

According to Lincoln Police Sergeant Tom Ward, just before 11:00 p.m. Monday, an officer drove up on a pickup in the ditch on North 7th Street north of Superior Street.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue helped the driver get out of the truck and then transported him to Bryan LGH Medical Center West. The driver's condition is not considered life threatening.

A sign was knocked down when the truck left the roadway and police estimate $1,500 in damage to the truck.
