LPD: Transient in Custody After Weekend Stabbing

A transient is in custody after a weekend stabbing.
Kester Hipshire Jr. was arrested Tuesday for second degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Officer Katie Flood says the victim and his girlfriend were arguing near the transient camp east of the bike bath at 27th and Fairfield.
She says Hipshire tired to intervene, produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.
The victim is expected to live.
