The internet is making it easier these days to do everything from shopping to paying your bills.
Lincoln Public Schools is now making it easier for people to take advantage of their surplus auctions with an online program.
Items such as chairs, kitchen and workout equipment will be auctioned off on publicsurplus.com.
The program launches February 3, 2014. LPS decided to try something new in an effort to make it easier for people if they can't come to the auctions at the Surplus Distribution Center.
They also want to reach more people not just in Lincoln, but all over the state.
Over the past 14 years, LPS has generated $812,000 from their auctions and all of the money is put back into the LPS general fund.
