Lancaster County Sheriff's Deputies arrest a man after he beats up his girlfriend on the side of the road while their two-year-old child watched.
20-year-old Francisco Romero of Crete is in jail facing 3rd Degree Domestic Assault, Criminal Mischief and Child Abuse and Neglect charges.
Sheriff Terry Wagner said Romero and his 22-year-old girlfriend were driving on Highway 33 to Lincoln when they got in an argument.
According to Wagner the girlfriend pulled over to talk it out but that's when Romero started striking her in the face...
Wagner said, "He also broke out the passenger right front window, kicked the windshield breaking it and knocked off the rear-view mirror." this -- all while the couple's toddler watched from the back seat.
The girlfriend was released from Crete hospital with minor injuries.
