A new incentive seems to be working for the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
It's a campaign called You Drink, You Drive, You Lose that aims to crack down on drunk drivers.
Over Labor Day weekend, 14 Sheriff's Deputies were out working overtime Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
Overtime for the deputies was funded by a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
The Lancaster Sheriff's Department said numbers were flat and they call that a win.
"It's a heavily traveled weekend with a Nebraska football game and the last blast of summer. So the main purpose of the campaign is to make people aware and to encourage them to use designated drivers. Of the 418 vehicles stopped one was driving while intoxicated. I think percentage wise that's good. We'd like to have no people that were intoxicated," said Terry Wagner, Lancaster County Sheriffs Department Spokesperson.
"We eventually want to get that number down to zero," Wagner added.
