No doubt you've heard about the classic Chevy auction in Pierce last weekend. Thousands gathered to get a glimpse, or even take home a piece of history.
About 500 of Ray and Mildred Lambrecht's cars were sold off and now have homes outside of the state. But one of the top autos sold is staying close to home.
Today we drove to Hardy, Nebraska, near Superior, to meet John and Mary Kaldahl, the new owners of the 1978 Corvette Indy Pace car.
The Kaldahls ended up bidding online through Proxibid because they had a wedding to attend the day of the auction. They ended up paying $80,000 for the vintage corvette. The other top sellers were the 1958 Chevy Cameo pickup that went for $140,000 and the 1958 Chevy Apache 31 pickup that sold for $80,000. All of these vehicles had less than five miles on the odometers.
We'll have more on this story on an upcoming Pure Nebraska. So be watching for that!
