The Nebraska State Patrol and several south central Nebraska law enforcement agencies are searching for a Lawrence man who has seven active warrants.
Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin says the Nebraska State Patrol pursued Emilio Llanes, Jr. for a short time around the Glenvil area Tuesday night. Troopers stopped when they felt the pursuit was too dangerous, but found Llanes' vehicle wrecked in a Clay County ditch off Highway 74.
Witnesses reported seeing Llanes run from the vehicle on foot. Franklin says deputies searched the area and nearby residences, but were unable to find Llanes. He says another person waiting to pick Llanes up in Fairfield was arrested and transferred to Cheyenne County authorities on another warrant.
The Nuckolls County Sheriff Department posted on their Facebook page that Llanes is known to travel between Lawrence, Hastings, and Kearney frequently. They say he could be armed and dangerous to law enforcement trying to contact him.
Franklin says most of the warrants for Llanes are misdemeanors, but one warrant is for felony terroristic threats in Adams County.
Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
