Driving in Nebraska's capital city is much safer than most other U.S. cities.
Allstate Insurance Co. says Lincoln is the fifth-safest city overall and safest city of its size this year because accidents are less likely.
Allstate researchers analyzed two years of internal crash data to calculate the chance drivers in America's 200 largest cities would be involved in an accident.
In Lincoln, drivers get into accidents about once every 12.4 years. The national average is for drivers to be involved in a wreck once every 10 years.
Omaha ranks 45th in the report because drivers get into accidents once every 10.5 years, on average.
The safest city in the study was Sioux Falls, S.D., where drivers get into crashes once every 13.8 years.
