A high speed chase and roll over crash lands a Lincoln couple in jail.

It happened just after seven Thursday night near 14th and E street.

Police say an officer spotted a Ford Explorer with out license plates. As soon as the driver, 21-year-old Dominique Booth, saw the officer, he took off through the neighborhood. His girlfriend, 21-year-old Joanna Nguyen, was a passenger in the SUV.

At one point, police say the SUV darted down an alley, reaching speeds of 50 miles per hour. They say the SUV hit a parked car and bottomed out crossing Goodhue.

"The car continued through the alley where it lost control, actually rolling and turning 360 degrees, landing upright on all four tires. Undaunted, the driver then fled on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away," Officer Katie Flood said.

Booth and Nguyen each had outstanding warrants.

Booth was also booked in jail for fleeing to avoid arrest and received additional citations for leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, fail to comply, driving under suspension, willful reckless driving, no proof of ownership, violate stop sign and evade a traffic control device.

Nguyen was cited for no insurance. Police say she owned the SUV.
