A Lincoln man celebrated a major milestone Sunday: his 100th birthday!
Dr. Raleigh Peterson actually turned 100 on Wednesday, but Sunday afternoon, all his closest friends and family gathered at Bethany Christian Church to wish him many happy returns.
Peterson was born January 9th, 1913.
He says his secret to long life - procrastination, saying, "I always said if you can do it tomorrow, why bother doing it today. So I've ridden kind of loose in the saddle."
Instead of gifts, Peterson asked well-wishers to make a contribution to the Raleigh and Olive Peterson Scholarship Fund established at Cotner College.
He says he's amazed and blessed by all the people who turned out to help him celebrate.
