Lincoln Man Charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

LINCOLN, Neb.-- On July 28, an Indictment was unsealed charging 41-year-old Jason Michael Leatherwood of Lincoln with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine between about October of 2012 and January of 2014.

The possible penalty is not less than 10 years, nor more than life imprisonment, a fine of up to $10,000,000, and a term of supervised release following any prison sentence of at least five years.

Leatherwood had an initial appearance in federal court in Lincoln on July 29, 2014. Trial was scheduled to begin on September 30, and Leatherwood was released on conditions.

This case was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force.
