Ten thousand runners signed up to pound the pavement in the next Lincoln Marathon and half marathon.
The race sold out in just in 11 hours.
That trumps last year's registration sell-out by 19 days and 13 days.
Race director Nancy Sutton said that puts the Lincoln Marathon exclusivity in the category of bigger city runs like Boston and Chicago, where races sell out right away.
"We put on a good race here. We start on time and the miles are correct," Sutton said. "We give runners a lot for their money, and I think its just become one of those races that people like to run."
For those runners who missed this year's sign up, the marathon won't be opening more slots.
It's an issue of overcrowding on some parts of the route. That's something that will be alleviated in years to come.
