Police Say Hit and Run Suspect Abandoned His Injured Dog

Lincoln Police are looking for a man they believe was driving a Pontiac Grand Pre when he hit a parked car.

Police say the driver left his injured pit bull in his vehicle and ran off.

The crash happened just west of South 8th and West Washington Streets around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Skid marks from the suspect's car measured more than 100 feet.

Animal control was called to remove the injured dog from the car and it was treated for minor injuries.

According to police, both cars are totaled.

Police have a suspect but are not releasing the name.
