One woman is out $300 after she tried to order a puppy online.
According to police, the woman from Lincoln saw an ad online for a free dog, she only had to pay shipping.
The ad was for a Samoyd puppy from someone in Portland, Oregon.
She received a email from a company known as the Pet Machine telling her to wire $300 to Cameroon. The man requested that the woman use a code word so he didn't have to use ID
After she sent the money, police say she got another email asking for $2,000 for pet insurance.
That's when the woman realized she had been scammed.
Officials say to never wire money to someone you haven't met or don't know. They say it is impossible to trace money wires overseas.
