Two charities are partnering with one Lincoln restaurant to make giving back as easy as eating out.
Folks over at Venue Restaurant and Lounge held their first-ever Brunch for a Cause Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is hoping to make it a regular event to help local charities, and promote Lincoln artists, while offering brunch to hungry guests. Twenty percent of Sunday's proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and Dayna's Dream Big Foundation, which helps students at Lincoln Public Schools pursue a higher education.
"She was very focused on wanting to continue teaching and wanting to continue to be there for her students, so we just wanted to be able to honor her through the scholarship and events like this that we plan to continue to have," said Dayna's Sister, Amber Carper Barclay.
Danya Buss was a second grade teacher at Cavett Elementary in Lincoln. The foundation was started after Buss passed away from cervical cancer in October of 2012.
