A Lincoln vintage clothing store is 'kind of a big deal' when it comes to Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Penny Lane Trading Company noticed a high number of items being bought online from a Los Angeles address. Rather than pay shipping on each individual item, the Lincoln vintage store called to recommend sending in bundles. That's when co-owner Jesse Waller got the thrill of a lifetime.
"Holy cow, holy cow," Waller said after finding out it was the movie's costume designer Susan Matheson. "I called my wife immediately."
About 50 vintage items were bought from the store, including a three-piece suit that may not have been the right size, but was right for the character.
"Steve Carell (Brick Tamland) claims that he's a 38 suit size, but the costume designer says he's not a 38, he's a 42, so she asked us to get him a size 40 to make him happy and her happy," Waller said.
Waller went to the premiere Tuesday night, and said he spent just as much time looking for his clothes as he was paying attention to the movie.
"Honestly it's like I was not paying attention to the movie part of the time," Waller said. "I was constantly looking at the people and what they were wearing. I had my phone opened because I had all the stuff saved in my phone that they had purchased from us. I just looked over and pointed to somebody and go "there's Steve Carell, he's wearing a suit I had in my hands at one point."
