Authorities say a pickup driver has been arrested after nearly 18 pounds of marijuana was found in his pickup in Lincoln.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a state trooper pulled over the truck for speeding just before 11 a.m. Wednesday near the Lincoln Airport exit off Interstate 80. A patrol dog taken to the scene alerted officers to the odor of drugs. The patrol says the pot was found inside three duffel bags inside the extended cab.

The driver was taken to Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of drug possession for sale. Online court records don't yet list the case.
