According to the Kansas State Patrol 43-year-old Tracy Core, of Lincoln, and 22-year-old Bradley Cusatis, Jr., of Beatrice, died after a train hit their 2002 Suzuki car.

It happened in Jewell County, Kansas at 10:30 Saturday morning one Mile North of Webber.

The Jewell County Sheriff's Department says Core is Cusatis' mother.

Online KHP records say the 99 car BNSF train was heading north on the tracks, when Core exited Farm Entrance Drive. She then drove across the tracks and the train hit the car on the passenger side. Cusatis was a passenger in the car.

Cusatis died at the scene of the crash. Emergency crews took Core to Broadstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, when she later died.

Neither Cusatis or Core were wearing seat belts.

The three people in the BNSF train were not hurt.
