Police arrest a Lincoln man just minutes after he tried to rob a coffee shop.
Police say Jeffrey Sheppard walked into Lincoln Espresso at 16th and O and demanded money.
They say he threatened the female employee, but did not show a weapon. The employee didn't give Sheppard anything and he left.
Six minutes later, officers arrested Sheppard just four blocks away.
"It happened quickly partly because of the time that it occurred. Several third shift officers from the Northwest and Center teams were just ending their shifts. They heard that three tone on the radio indicating a robbery and immediately jumped up and went toward the area," Officer Katie Flood said.
Sheppard was booked in jail for attempted robbery.
