"Then the guy with the gun held it up to my head"
--Andrew Lichtenberg, beating victim
A Lincoln man was beaten and robbed near South Street and Broadmoore at around 4 in the morning Saturday.
Andrew Lichtenberg was hospitalized with bruises and cuts after the beating he suffered. On his stomach is a four inch gash. His face is slightly swollen. His right knee was also bruised.
We found him resting at his home, on crutches, Saturday evening, trying to recover, and trying to figure out why anyone would want to hurt him. He says he has no enemies.
He remembers at one point during the assault, thinking he was going to die. "Then the guy with the gun held it up to my head," said Lichtenberg.
Lichtenberg says he was just walking for exercise when he was jumped by some men in a car. They ended up stealing his cigarettes.
He was able to call 911 for help.
He was not able to identify his attackers. If you have any information on this, call police. Also, watch Owen Jensen's report above.
