The Lincoln school board has fired a longtime special-education teacher who changed a student's assessment scores.
Dalene Ward was dismissed Tuesday by a unanimous vote of the board, which followed a recommendation from a hearing officer.
The district says Ward also lacked a required teaching endorsement.
The hearing officer says Ward changed the student's assessment scores made by another teacher, making it appear the child the child had made strides in the preschool program.
Ward told the newspaper after the meeting that she didn't think she had done anything worthy of dismissal.
She'd been employed by the district for 19 years.
