Almost 500 Lincoln residents received a special Valentine's message in a bottle today, thanks to a local paper company.

Porridge Papers held it's 5th annual Love on the Run.

The weekend before Valentine's Day, anyone could stop in and type a message to their loved one on an old fashioned type writer.

Today, almost 50 volunteers delivered the nearly 500 messages to their recipients, spreading some Valentine's Day love.

Owner Christopher James says it's a better way to tell someone you love them than the traditional flowers or candy.

Recipients got their messages in a bottle with a polaroid of their Valentine.

Numerous local businesses sponsored the event.
