Lung Cancer CT Screening Saves Man's Life

Hey smokers, listen up.

A Lung Cancer CT Screening could save your life by detecting the disease early on before it spreads and kills you.

But insurance, according to Dr. Richard Thompson at Bryan LGH in Lincoln, doesn't cover the screenings.

He's hoping that will change.

Case in point: last fall a former heavy smoker, George Wallace, took advantage of a free Lung Cancer CT Screening at Bryan LGH. It was a one-time deal only, as part of a large study.

Long story short, a growth was discovered on his lung. And it was promptly removed.

Now an effort is underway to have such screenings covered by insurance, including Medicare.

If were hear from Medicare on the issue, we will let you know what they think about it.
