Man Arrested on Alcohol & Drug Charges After Driving Through School Playground

A scary situation unfolded just before 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at Crete Elementary School when a car drove through the playground.

Crete Police Lt. Gary Young said 22-year-old Thomas Hibler drove through a fence and got within 10-15 feet of a group of students and teachers before continuing on. No one was hurt.

Hibler was located at the Crete Wal-mart and was arrested for DWI, willful reckless driving, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.
