A man is in jail for assault on a police officer, after resisting arrest and scratching the officer's neck.

Friday evening, Lincoln Officers were called to the People's City Mission for a man inside, causing a disturbance.

According to Sergeant Craig Price, when officers tried to take the man into custody, he fought back, scratching one officer in the neck.

The man was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for Assault on a Police Officer.

Price said the injured officer was treated and released and went back to his normal patrol duties for the remainder of the evening.
