Hermino Alamilla, Jr., 30, of Grand Island pled not guilty to charges that include motor vehicle homicide after an August car accident killed one man.
Police say Alamilla lost control of the car he was driving on Aug. 19 on Highway 281 near Guenther Road just outside Grand Island. It rolled several times and ejected passenger Jerry Ray Ramirez, 29, killing him.
Alamilla is also charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test and obstructing a police officer. If found guilty for the felony motor vehicle homicide charge, Hall County District Court Judge James Livingston says Alamilla can also be found guilty of the charge of being a habitual criminal.
Another hearing for Alamilla is set for December, and his trial set for January.
