LINCOLN, Neb. Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), is opening its newly renovated Lincoln Grand Cinema the week of June 16.
Major updates include the addition of a Take Five Lounge and a Zaffiro’s Express – the first movie theatre food & lounge concepts in Lincoln.
“We are working hard to respond to the ever-changing needs of our customers,” said Rolando B. Rodriguez, president and chief executive officer for Marcus Theatres. “Providing a complete entertainment experience is our goal. From the selection of screens, sound and seating to offering the broadest range of dining alternatives in the industry, we strive to create the comforts and conveniences our guests will appreciate. The renovations at the Lincoln Grand Cinema reflect that.”
The new Take Five Lounge brings casual dining, appetizer and beverage options to the Lincoln Grand Cinema. Designed with the building’s history in mind, the entrance to the Take Five Lounge is essentially a historic bank vault door. It has become a centerpiece for the design and a conversation piece. Other special design features include an under-lit Onyx bar top and a notable 15-foot high-definition screen for viewing favorite shows and events in style.
Featuring a chef-inspired menu and a full-service bar, Take Five Lounge guests can relax over food and beverages before and after a movie, or enjoy a drink during the show. It is an onsite option with a complete selection of cocktails and locally brewed beers and wines for a customized hometown experience. In addition, it’s an ideal venue for watching sporting events or enjoying an after-work outing.
A second option for food and beverage at the Lincoln Grand Cinema is the new Zaffiro’s Express. This concept offers lobby dining that includes appetizers, sandwiches, salads, desserts and the must-have Zaffiro’s THINCREDIBLE® handmade thin-crust pizza.
The new food and lounge amenities come shortly after the addition of the first UltraScreen® DLX (Dream Lounger eXperience) in the state, which combines massive screens, immersive Dolby® Atmos™ sound and comfortable DreamLounger℠ recliners. The screen is an impressive 58-feet wide and the immersive sound has speakers at every angle, making moviegoers feel part of the action. With the luxurious, leather recliners, guests can go from upright to a full-recline position in seconds. Plus, there is 7-feet separating the rows of seats, which provides plenty of legroom.
With the completion of this five-month renovation, guests of the Lincoln Grand Cinema will now enjoy the total movie and dining experience all under one roof. It includes the UltraScreen DLX, the new food & lounge amenitites and an updated concessions area as well.
“We continue to evolve our theatres to create the ideal movie experience for our guests,” said Rodriguez. “Marcus Theatres has a rich history and an ability to innovate. We look forward to further investing in our theatres to enhance the customer experience.”
