Memorial Day Services in Lincoln

May 26, 2014 Many Lincoln residents celebrated Memorial Day at Wyuka Cemetery's Annual Service.

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, the guest speaker, told stories about war veterans. He also showed gratitude to the many veterans who have served our country.

The ceremony began with a wreath casting from the bridge on the north end of the pond. Lincoln Fire and Rescue pipe drum corps and color guard then led a parade to the Soldier's Circle.

The Lincoln Memorial Day Observance Association planned today's event. The group founded in the 1950's goal is to restore patriotism to the United State's Service Men and Women.
