North Platte, NE - The Turquoise Junkie, located in downtown North Platte, had been in business for over a year. They don’t have a website, but they are still participating in Cyber Monday by using a different tool, social media.

"We are doing Facebook Cyber Monday. All the pictures on the Facebook pages have the sizes that I have available," said store owner Samantha Young.

Young says she has been taking individual orders through text messages, phone calls, and inbox messages, and with over 1400 followers, it's working.

"My Facebook is completely flooded, and my battery is about dead on my phone," said Young.

According to the National Retail Federation over 131 million shoppers will jump online and look for savings.

"You don’t have to deal with any of the people fighting over what’s left in the stores, so I defiantly like cyber Monday a lot better," said shopper Derek Rubenthaler.

By noon, IBM released that a third of all online shopping was done by mobile devices like smartphone’s and tablets.
