Snow Emergencies Declared for Several Cities Including Lincoln

Albion
A snow emergency began Thursday, February 21 and will be in effect until further notice. All citizens should move their vehicles to off-street parking during declared snow emergencies so as to expedite the snow removal process. Parking is strictly prohibited on snow emergency routes.

Aurora
Aurora Police said their snow emergency starts at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday until 6:00 a.m. Friday

Ashland
Snow emergency for the city of Ashland. 7pm Thursday until Noon Friday.
No parking on either side of the street.

Crete
Crete’s Mayor has declared a snow emergency. Vehicle owners are asked to remove their vehicles from all marked emergency snow routes beginning 6:00PM on Wednesday, February 20 through 8:00AM on Friday, February 22, 2013.

Kearney
The City of Kearney Street Division announced a Snow Emergency is in effect beginning Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. until Friday, February 22, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. There is no parking on Emergency Snow Routes during this snow emergency. Violators will be towed or ticked.

Lincoln
With imminent snowfall in the forecast, Mayor Chris Beutler has declared a snow emergency for the City of Lincoln. It will take effect at 6 p.m. Wednesday. A snow emergency means parking is banned on emergency snow routes, bus routes and other major arterial streets. A map showing these routes can be found at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: snow) and in the blue pages of the Windstream phone directory. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

City crews will begin spreading salt at about 8 p.m. Wednesday on major arterial streets. Public Works officials will continue to monitor the progress of the storm and plan to increase material spreading efforts into the overnight hours.

Yutan
Snow Emergency for City of Yutan effective beginning Noon Thursday thru Noon Saturday.
