Authorities have released the name of an 80-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a collision northeast of Grand Island.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office identified him as Donald McCarville, of Grand Island.

The sheriff's office says a 21-year-old Grand Island woman was arrested after Tuesday's crash, accused of vehicular homicide.

Hall County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday near the Shady Bend Road intersection on Capital Avenue.

Authorities say Britteney Baker was westbound on Capital Avenue when her car crossed the center line and struck the eastbound motorcycle head on.

Officials say the McCarville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baker initially told police that the driver of the car had fled the scene on foot, but later admitted to being the driver.

Baker was taken into custody and is being charged with no operator's license, driving left of center, false reporting, and motor vehicle homicide.

The accident is being investigated by the Hall County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.
