The Nebraska State Patrol is extending the application deadline to April 7, for individuals interested in applying for consideration into the 56th Basic Recruit Camp scheduled to begin October 20, 2014. The previous application deadline was April 4.
“We are looking to hire as many as 30 new troopers,” said Colonel David Sankey, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “By extending the deadline we are hoping to increase the number of qualified candidates.”

The salary for a recruit while attending camp is $31,892. Upon graduation, the salary will increase to $44,574 annually. Other excellent career benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, medical insurance, life insurance and full retirement benefits.
Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and 21 years of age by May 1, 2015, when they take the Oath of Office. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
