The search for a lost 3-year-old Nebraska City boy ended happily Thursday afternoon.
Police received a call at 2:20 p.m. that Kit Reeves was missing from his home at 315 N. 14th St.
Nebraska City fire and rescue, Otoe County sheriff's deputies, Nebraska State Patrol and Otoe County Emergency Management joined a search that began inside the house.
The boy's mother, Katie Reeves, led searchers through the house and Police Chief Dave Lacy said the house was searched thoroughly.
The search, which began in the surrounding blocks, began to spread out. Several neighbors and Reeves' friends joined the searched.
The boy then turned up inside of the house. Reeves told police he just came walking up to her and she thinks he may have been hiding or sleeping in a sun-room.
An Everbridge emergency alert telephone call was broadcast regarding the missing child and reported he had been found at 3:05 p.m.
