Nebraska National Guard Ag Team Heads for Afghanistan

Members of a Nebraska Army National Guard agriculture team are preparing to leave for Afghanistan.

A sendoff is set for Tuesday at the armory in Lincoln for a dozen soldiers who will be in Afghanistan for a year.

The soldiers are part of the guard's Afghan Agribusiness Development Team and will help the Afghan government and farmers.

The soldiers will replace members of another Nebraska ag team.

Following Tuesday's sendoff, the soldiers will report to Camp Atterbury in Indiana for a month's training before leaving for Afghanistan.
