DO YOU HAVE A TIP FOR POLICE?
While electronics are always a major target for thieves, manufacturers have now developed anti-theft programs in electronics.
Whether it's a simple password lock or more elaborate tools, these new programs have become quite helpful.
Some criminals may not even realize that pictures are being taken of them, with the item they are attempting to steal. There are programs that can take a photo of the suspect attempting to steal an item and then email that photo to its owner.
Thieves broke into a home in the Highlands on July 19, while the owners were on vacation. Police say a neighbor saw the door open, called police and when the owners returned home, they realized how much was stolen: two televisions, two game consoles with games, an iPod and a Macbook. The owners had lost more than $4,200.
Luckily the suspects used the iPod and Macbook and were caught on camera. The pictures were sent back to the owners and now police hope the pictures help catch the thieves.
Police need your help to identify the suspects. If you have any information please call Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
