New details this afternoon about the drug bust in Lincoln on Tuesday - the suspect was cooking meth when authorities apprehended him.

The Fugitive Task Force did not enter the home on South 20th Street when they arrested 30 year old Justin Smick around 9:00 Tuesday morning.

Officers instead convinced Smick to come out before Lincoln Fire and Rescue arrived to ventilate the house.

Smick told deputies he had disposed of some of the components in a bathtub full of water.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says the situation was extremely dangerous.

Smick has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture, and manufacturing within 1,000 feet of a school.

Prescott Elementary School is only 530 feet from the lab.
