Lincoln Police were able to prevent an armed robbery from happening after an officer spotted suspicious activity.
An officer was finishing up on a previous call in a McDonald's parking lot at 21st and K Streets Tuesday when he noticed three men acting suspicious. The officer watched as they drove away, crossing the center line before making an illegal turn.
The officer stopped the car and found that 18-year-old Bryan Prentice had a juvenile detainer, similar to a warrant. Prentice told the officer that there was a gun in the glove box.
All three were taken in for questioning. Prentice told police that he had planned to rob the restaurant until he spotted the officer.
Prentice is facing several charges including attempted robbery, use of a firearm to commit a felony and carrying concealed weapon.
