Over 1200 people took steps to raise awareness about mental health issues Sunday.
It was the second annual Run to Overcome, sponsored by Bryan Health.
The event was created after a Bryan staff member took his own life after suffering from depression.
Olympic runner Suzy Favor Hamilton told the crowd about her own battle with depression before leading the runners in a 10k race.
She says it's so important the stigma of mental health concerns is overcome, saying "I was recently told that suicide is the number two killer in children and if we can get children to speak up, talk to a counselor, talk to a parent, or find somebody safe, we can simply save lives."
It was also a big day for Bryan Health System.
Saturday was the last day the hospitals will be called Bryan LGH.
They've become simply Bryan Health.
Staffers say the new name better reflects the hospital's commitment to total body health, which includes providing mental health services.
