More than a hundred years ago, Holdrege was dubbed "The Magic City" because of its rapid development. Today, it could still be called "The Magic City", but for a completely different reason.
His name is Chase Hasty and he is the 'Magic Man' of Our Town Holdrege, "When I was 5 years old, I got a magic kit from my parents for Christmas. I enjoyed magic because it was something nobody else could do. I practiced the tricks and nobody else in my family could figure it out so I thought it was cool."
Chase was just 10 years old when he kicked off his career. He'll tell you that he's come a long way in the past 6 years.
Last September, Chase entered a large magic contest in Dallas and...."I received first place at that competition and it's one of my biggest achievements."
It takes a lot of work to make magic look easy, "When I was practicing competition routine I practiced probably 5 to 7 hours a night after school, including Saturday and Sunday.
This Holdrege High School junior would like to take go on a United States tour in the near future, eventually pursue an acting career and if it all works out as planned, have his own show in Las Vegas.
