Our Town Norfolk: Healing Family of Faith Regional

If you live in or around Our Town Norfolk it's good to know that Faith Regional Health Services continues to be the hub for health care in Northeast Nebraska.

They never stop expanding their scope of services, so there's little need to drive miles and miles when faith is winning national awards for patient care.

Jim Sinek in President and CEO at Faith Regional, "I think the success of Faith Regional Health Services began with the bold and ambitious vision statement that the board of directors developed a number of years ago and that was to become the regional referral center for northeast, northcentral Nebraska."

Sinek adds, "About two years ago, we took 2 significant steps to achieving that vision of becoming a regional referral center."

The first was the development of the 207,000 square foot bed tower that was finished in 2010, "This bed tower was built in a very sophisticated way that provides our patients with a very comfortable environment that also provides sophisticated systems to deliver the care that we deliver today in a much different way than we did many, many years ago."

The second significant step was the implementation of a fully electronic medical record system. Hospitalist Joe Metcalf is impressed with the progress, "We became a paperless system which allows us to increase our efficiencies and just to be able to spend more time with the patient bedside and we also continuously have really expanded our scope of services. There's really almost no service that we don't provide here with the exception of brain surgery."

After 16 years of service to this facility, being part of the Faith family means a lot to Joe, "It's like a second family for me. I feel very embraced and cared for and the atmosphere of the patients also experience is one of family and unity with our goal being to provide and excellent level of service so that their experience is nothing short of excellent."
