Lincoln, NE - Parents and newborns are enjoying the benefits of the newly renovated Advanced Baby Center at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center.
Mike Lefler of Lincoln just became a second time dad. His new daughter, Cassidy, was just born at Saint Elizabeth.
"We've had just a tremendous experience. We just can't say enough about not only the facility, but the people here. The people here at Saint Elizabeth are what I feel really make the difference. You know, they've got this brand new facility to house new parents and new babies, but they've always had great people here and I think that's what we've come to expect when we work with Saint Elizabeth, when we've come here for other things in the past as well," said Lefler.
Among the changes, a bistro where a parents can grab a bite to eat or something to drink.
Even the labor process is better. Each delivery room features a jacuzzi tub. The tub not only helps with discomfort during labor, they also do many water births.
"You always remember your baby, it is an experience that you'll always remember for the rest of your life. We work with our birth plans, we work with everything to make sure that its a memorable family experience," said Connie Miles, Director of Perinatal Services.
Miles said that the changes allow them to achieve their goal of serving the patient.
"What our focus basically is is to make a more warm environment for our families, more comfortable, make it more of a family experience," said Miles.
The new Advanced Baby Center opened on December 9th.
Every year, more than two-thousand babies are born at Saint Elizabeth.
