Alfonzo Dennard to Serve 5 Days in Jail

Lincoln, Neb. New England Patriots cornerback and former Nebraska football player Alfonzo Dennard will serve five days in Lancaster County Jail for violating probation.

According to court documents, Dennard tested positive for alcohol on December 5 and failed to report for drug testing on December 7. A judge also ordered Dennard to complete a substance abuse evaluation by January 8, 2016.

Dennard was placed on probation for a 2012 assault on a police officer. Police said it happened outside a Lincoln bar days before he was chosen in the NFL Draft.
