A Lincoln woman is recovering from her injuries after she was nearly run over by her own car Friday morning.

Lincoln police responded to 32nd and D Streets just after 8 a.m. after a neighbor saw a car backing down a driveway, dragging the owner.

Investigators say the woman had reached into her car to grab her pet ferret when she accidentally hit the gear, shifting it into reverse.

The car stopped once it crossed the street and went up onto the opposite curb.

The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
