Nemaha Co.-- Nemaha County, Nebraska residents with the phone exchanges of Peru, Brownville and Nemaha are no longer without service Sunday, after a line was cut by a construction crew at the intersection of Highways 67 and 136.

All land line service was unavailable between 7:30 a.m and 9:40 p.m. Saturday, including 911. Calls to 911 on a cell phones went through.

Windstream customers in Richardson County were also affected and weren't able to contact 911 even with a cell phone.

A representative with Windstream says it took more than 12 hours to restore power because crews had to replace damaged fiber under the highway.
