Pizza is a Fan Favorite on Super Bowl Sunday
As super bowl fans cheer on their favorite teams, one fan favorite on both sides this game day is pizza.
"We're under pressure, but that's what we like," said Stacy Crissler, an employee at Sam & Louie’s Pizza in downtown Lincoln.
Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest days of the year for most pizza places. On this day drivers, prep cooks, and waitresses at Sam and Louie’s have one thing on their mind—success.
To make our customers happy is our number one priority,” said Paul Johnson, co-owner of the downtown Sam & Louie’s.
According to the National Restaurant Association, 48 million Americans order takeout for the game.
“It’s basically organized chaos is how I would describe it," said Johnson.
From the fluffy dough to the sauce and the toppings, the National Restaurant Association said 61 percent of people list pizza as a “must have” on Super Bowl Sunday.
It ranks in third place, behind dips or spreads and chicken wings.
In general, it's just America's favorite food," said Crissler.
